BADGES Conference ‘Learning in and through heritage’!

Heritage makes us wiser! By visiting cultural or natural heritage sites, you learn about a specific culture or nature area. It allows you to develop broader competences. But how exactly can exhibitions, monuments or landscapes contribute to this? How can they present themselves and turn the experience into one that motivates people to delve deeper and wants them to learn more? How can you make this personal development visible? And how can you give visitors recognition?

The EU BADGES project provides you with handy tools. It has developed a framework for attractive competence-oriented learning in heritage institutions. Furthermore it has created a smart methodology to validate this learning.

On September 5, 2019 all BADGES partners are happy to share their pilots and vision with you in the Landcommanderij Alden Biesen (Belgium). In presentations and a fair you will discover a windmill walk in Schiedam (NL), projects raising natural heritage protection awareness in Tatra National park (PL) and Berlengas Island (PT), badging volunteers (BE), an open monuments weekend that involves 6000 volunteers in one city (IT) and much more. In the afternoon you will discover what ‘badging’ can look like in your organization and have the unique opportunity to talk to colleagues from all over Europe.
